Hi Admins, good work so far. Would it be ok if we had a thread for links? I think it would be a helpful addition. Thanks and Blessings for a board still in infancy.

I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean.
We already have categories for E-book links, Music & Movie links, and Software links. And folks posting Requests usually get a link or links in reply.
Is there some other category of links you would like?

Jeez, we're gettin' it from all sides. I feel like we're at Dunkirk.
Why would we want to post links for Alias and Katz and Kez and others?
Wouldn't that suggest we want everyone to go there rather than here?
You can't believe how frustrating this is.
We just got XF3 to the point where everyone felt comfortable again and then CgiWorld crapped out.
And now, we try to give everyone somewhere to hang out while we look for alternatives and our Regulars are either complaining about the format here or suggesting we post links to other similar (and obviously better) boards.
As A Guy said recently, "X-Files is a community".
For those who are not satisfied being a part of this community, you probably already know where all the other sites are and we wish you well going there.
For those who have the patience to stick with us, we promise we'll do everything possible to find a home that everyone will like.
But please remember, we all have RW lives as you all do, so you need to cut us a bit of slack, OK?

Takes a deep breath...then i will begin; As an old Lurker and freind of the 'community' i feel qualified to say this.... Admin...CHILL!...and breath again. ok...there is no one here that does not, and has not, appreciated the hard work of the ordinary everyday working peeps here, in keeping us going, that is as said. However the following have all been given on prevoious incarnations of the board and have been helpful without pulling anyone away from our close knit 'village'. I.E.
h**p://www.9down.com/ help://www.free-codecs.com/index.htm hasp://xaliasx.uni.cc/ harp://darkrealms-tech.com/forum/forum.php
So... now that i have made myself perfectly clear, with an honest heart and a loving spirit, i will go back to my Hermits Cave and meditate and pray on the remarkable feat that is the loyal and faithful existence of 'The World of X-Files'. Blessings. P.S. if I have offended anyone then I apologise, and will comply to Admin's final decision(s) on this matter.

Well Horton, being admin does have certain privileges, but based on your concern, I removed the offending "Go Giants" forum.
Btw, the Giants lost.

Aya If you ever looked at the at the very top of your browser when visiting the origional TheX it said "The Beggining". There was always bigger places to find what you needed and TheX never tried to compete with that. Those that post will know that the links they find here can be found at countless other places and know where they are. TheX is after all pretty much a repost board. You find stuff elsewhere and copy it here. So whats the point! Now don't get mad at me here i'm getting to the point...lol Some places are always in your heart. TheX was / is a community. It only takes one good lurker to take the plunge and start posting and you have a dozen new posts a day and a community that has grown. How do you think I got started! You ain't seen my nick for some time but I feel my point is valid. Let me tell you a story...lol I lurked at TheX pretty much from the begging, I lost it for a while then found my way back. I downloaded the software I need from links at TheX and followed the links provided by TheX to find new things. Then one day I thought I've taken enough from this place its time I gave something back. I was worried about posting along side the big boys but thought sod it and took the plunge. I uploaded some unlock software for the Sony Ericson Mobile I was using with the firmware etc and waited for the big boys to laugh me off the board. Sinister replyed saying thankyou and just like that I became a poster. Every post I made, every app I uploaded and every link in my browser came from TheX. TheX was "The Beggining" and thats why I aways came back. You post software and links to enable the new get started and learn. It can be quite intimidating for someone new who wants to contribute. They may feel like they haven't got anything worth posting. You all do good work here and will continue to do so. So what have you got to lose. Teach the lurkers to hunt for themselves. Start a links section and get everyone to post there best links. Who knows the lurkers may become posters, which will attract more lurkers who can become more posters. My god the sky the limit LDP
