Called the manufac tech & they had me do a total reformat. I'll let you know how it turns out

OK, you've been through that and it was no fun right? Now get yourself Acronis True Image, or Ghost, or similar, an external hard drive, and make an image or 2 (they sometimes don't go well, very rare), and next time 20 mins. or a 1/2 hour and you're back to normal.
Of course you have to make backups regularly, or when you add or change something signifigant. But it's great insurance. I use Ghost 2003, and it's never failed me, but I think Acronis is easier to learn, and preferred by more people. Just a suggestion. A Guy

Thanx for the info A Guy - Already knew about backup apps. I never keep anything on my laptop anyway (security...etc) so format wasn't a problem, just a pain. I keep my desktop PC fully backed - I'd chit if I lost that one... lol I appreciate the concern though - I keep saying this board is the best !
