Imagine you have a video downloaded from the net. The video already has subtitles, but you want to add translations below the original subtitles and of course syncronize these two.
What kind of programs could you use to do this? I mean: what is the easiest way to do this? I am not experienced at all.
I am just asking what kind of programs I should use; if you tell me this I will then go to the appropriate section of X-Files and ask how to get these programs.

Sorry Matthew, looks like no one can help. You might look into something like Cyberlink Power Director:

I think it's more for creating your own videos, but think it does subtitles? But adding subtitles and synching w/ current ones? Sounds difficult. A Guy

The link you gave, h**p://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/how-to-add-subtitles-to-a-video/sw4b4.zip suggests among other things the program SubtitleWorkshop. The zip file, sw4b4.zip, contains a program SubtitleWorkshop4.exe.
But Windows blocks the file SubtitleWorkshop4.exe from being extracted! Not any anti-virus or anti-trojan program, but Windows itself.
Windows Help tells me to save the file on my disk, then right-click it and choose Properties, then Allow.
But how can I save the file on my disk if I cannot even extract it? It is inside the .zip file.
Besides I am not _quite_ sure if it is a reliable program. Antivirus programs don't complain about it, though, but it is mentioned once on the net as an "unchecked" program.
TIA

I'm no techie so don't know what's wrong. Did try it myself, extracted the zip, double left click the SubtitleWorkshop4.exe and the prog opened - no install.
Anyway here's some other stuff to look at.
