I've tried unlocker, kremlin secure delete and gone to My computer to delete some files, nothing works. I've tried changing properties. Any suggestions?

Heidi Eraser is my preferred one... it does a good job and seems to break through locked files more often than not.

You cannot delete files that are used to run Windows. These are System Files. To delete these types of files, you would need a bootable disc (like Ubuntu or something) You cannot (normally) delete files that are in use. ie You can't delete a program or file, if you had it presently open (obviously) To delete these files, just go to Task Manager and end the program first Sometimes you cannot delete certain malwares, as they just keep coming back. To delete these types of files, you should use an Antivirus or Antimalware application You cannot (really) delete fully any file whatsoever! As there are a multitude of programs that can recover your deleted files. To delete extremely sensitive files forever most will recommend a 'wiping' program. I don't. I recommend that you physically destroy the drive, and buy another one. As this is the ONLY way to confirm they are gone forever. Hope this helps

Kim I have found that files can be erased and overwritten, Use kremlin secure delete use DOD settings, then run East Tec eraser overwrite 10 times, wipe free space and file slack. Then use the forensic tools ( the ones the FBI uses)or windows undelete to try to to recover the files they can not be recovered. No need to destroy the hard drive. TC/SS
